Boot Scraper
Boot Scraper
The boot scraper is designed to sit on your door step or deck to brush off backyard dirt & leaves that tend to end up on the rug at the door. Every gardener should have one! |
Construction
Find a container the size of boot scraper base. The old bread pan that we used was ideal. The smooth interior and sloped sides were a bonus. |
Shop your local hardware store and find a stiff bristle brush that will fit your base mold. We had to cut our brush to get the right fit. |
Cut a piece of styrofoam the size of your brush base and glue it to the bottom of your mold pan. |
Foam glued in place. |
Fill the mold pan with concrete. Allow the mix to set for at least 2 days before the pan is removed. |
The mold is removed and the base is sanded with a fine grit sandpaper for the final finish.
Base with brush inserted. |
The concrete base is heavy enough to withstand the
riggers of a shoe getting a thorough brushing.
